Show Notes

I know at times we all can be judgmental and unthankful towards life, towards other people, and even towards God. Sometimes we only thank God at a certain time, place or season. Sometimes we only thank God when things are going great in our lives. I believe we have to constantly focus on being thankful and demonstrating that.

I want to share with you this week of Thanksgiving 4 things or areas that every born-again believer can thank God for, no matter what the circumstances are.

All of these points involve the word “Freedom” in them. Four freedoms you can thank God for as you go into this season of thanksgiving.

Job 1:21, The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away;
blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Four freedoms that every born again believer can be thankful for:
1. We should give thanks for the freedom that we have to worship and serve our God as we please.

We can serve our Lord and worship Him without looking over our shoulder here in America.

There are restricted nations out there that do not give freedom to worship God and believe Him.

Four freedoms that every born again believer can be thankful for:
1. We should give thanks for the freedom that we have to worship and serve our God as we please.
2. The freedom from your past.

2 Corinthians 5:17, Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Look, all things have become new.

When Jesus applies His blood to us and forgives us our slate is wiped clean.

Jesus will give you a clean and fresh start.

We as Christians are free from our past. Come on, let's live the way. Not prideful or in vanity, but as His trophy of grace here.

Isaiah 43:25,
I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake, and will not remember your sins.

Through Jesus Christ there is freedom from your past sins and failures.

Psalm 103:12, as far as the east is from the west,
so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Acts 8:3, But Saul ravaged the church, entering house by house and dragging out both men and women and committing them to prison.

Acts 9:1-2,
The Conversion of Saul
9 Saul, still breathing out threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest, 2 and requested letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any there of the Way, either men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

Acts 9:20-21, Immediately he preached in the synagogues that the Christ is the Son of God. 21 All who heard him were amazed and said, “Is not this he who killed those who called on this name in Jerusalem, and came here with that intent, to bring them bound to the chief priests?”

Acts 9:29, And he spoke boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus and disputed against the Hellenists. But they tried to kill him.

Joshua 2; Hosea; John 4; John 8; Mark 5
No matter the sin, no matter our past, Jesus forgives us.

As you enter into Thanksgiving thank God for allowing you to worship and serve Him and also that you are free from your past.
