I believe that most would describe the church that they attend as a good church, wouldn't you agree? But would you say it is a perfect church? No, I am sure we would agree on that too. Why?
There is no such thing as a perfect church, and do you know why there are no perfect churches? Because there are no perfect people, and people are what lead and compose a church! If you have people, then there will be problems. That’s just a fact. There are some churches that are doing a great work, and the Apostle Paul mentions one in 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 - We give thanks to God always for you all, mentioning you in our prayers, 3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patient hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of God and our Father.
There are some examples of great churches in God’s Word. One of those was the church in which Paul had his first public ministry, the church at Antioch.
The church that you are in and that I pastor, is it a good church or a GREAT church? Let's look into God's Word and learn what a GREAT church does and looks like. What were the characteristics that made the church at Antioch a GREAT church?
